Hope for Pope winetasting / fundraiser

yummy Belgium cookie with mascarpone/coconut milk smear, macerated
berries, mint (and closeup), parmesan cups with roasted tomatoes,
fresh mozzarella & pesto, dried fruit cookies, another shot of the
fruit, olive pate with goat cheese and roasted garlic, beggars purses-
figs with roquefort blue, walnut, and honey drizzle.

what to do with all that extra gravy?

Make cheaters chicken tetrazini of course! I decided to give this a whirl just for the heck of it. Nothing fancy - leftover chicken, leftover chicken (or turkey?) gravy. Boiled pasta, put the peas in with the boiling pasta with about 2 mins to go,drain, toss with warmed gravy.

sorbetto 3 ways

pictures, in no particular order, of lemon sorbet, cara cara orange
sorbet, and blood orange sorbet in the process. Zest, juice, and all!
(they will be served in their original shells)

Chicken noodle soup, YYS style

Chicken stock (a third joined the othes in the pan), mirapoix, boiling
cellantani noodles, plated - and bread to go with it. Decided to
shoot it to show you the crumb from the loaf the night before.

If you had smell-o-vision, you would have smelled the bay leaf
blooming in oil before the mirapoix, the lemon zest made for
limoncello and sorbet wafting about as we busied ourselves making the
kids some lunch. It was magnificent. (I thought so - so did the

rolls and bread

Below are pictures pre-proofing rolls and bread, after proofing (the
2nd rise - note the size and shape - when a recipe calls for "doubles
in bulk" this is what it means. And finally, a cooling rack with
happy hot rolls and a pretty loaf!

this continues to be one of our favorite desserts. Perfect when the
pears are starting to get mushy and the kids won't eat them. Just a
little dollop of vanilla ice cream on a hot roasted pear. I challenge
you to look at this picture and not have naughty thoughts.

A week's worth of food stuff ... Chicken tarragon salad with red
grapes, cinnamon rounds with walnuts and pecans & caramel glaze,
lobster ravioli, bacon cooking - it's so pretty. Look for more. The
